'Tis the season to entertain.... and with entertaining comes the need for recipes for dips, appetizers and other yummy things that create the centerpiece around which everyone mingles for the holiday.
With that in mind, I thought it might be a good idea to start posting some recipes that I love for entertaining, so you can add them to your menu for upcoming holiday parties!
SAUSAGE DIP
1 lb Neese's Hot Sausage
1 lb Neese's Mild Sausage
2 (16 oz) packages of Cream Cheese (softened)
1 Can of Rotel Tomatoes - Hot
1 Can of Rotel Tomatoes - Mild
1 Medium Onion Chopped
First of all, YES - you DO have to use Neese's Sausage and Rotel Tomatoes. These items MAKE the dish - and trust me - I have tried it with poor immitations and it was just not the same.
Cook both of the sausages together and drain. Rinse well to get all of the grease off. Mix the sausage with the remaining ingredients. Serve with Frito's and dig in.
You will have to do some heavy duty mixing to get everything evenly mixed, but it is so worth it.
If you have folks coming over that are not fans of spicy food - you can substitute mild sausage and tomatoes for the hot ones.
Enjoy!
